  997.

Only The Good Die Young

Twas many and many a year ago
and this saying we all do know
it has been sung and rhymed by so many
by those who made fortunes to not a penny...

The saying goes as we all do know
'Only The Good Die Young' the cliches go
I watched my elders proclaim this sagely
all gathered agreed whole heartedly nodded wisely...

And yet I know as realizations grow
And you know it's true that the bad die low
But nobody notices and nobody cares
Except very few who hide their tears...?

Knew I could not on this saying hold my tongue
and truth be said most are glad they are dead and done...
for some were born wicked bad eggs rotten vile
best said we say no more about sad past lives of trial...?

Our Fault Ridden Eyes

why always casting stones
when first we are told commands
to remove our own rafters

from our fault ridden eyes
instead of mere teeny tiny splinters
misfortune humanities eyes

already have enough unjust burdens
without your demi-god judgements
be a good Samaritan redeem a few sins

Our Journey

the journey is long
and inter-dimensional,

many who should
have walked it
have sold out,

forsaking
a radical
freshness
of mind,

you do not
walk
your
journey alone,

in an
interconnected world,
you need
never walk alone,

the hopes
aspirations
dreams
of many

flow with you
flow into you
feed you
sustain you

food of your though
feeds their hunger
feeds their love
feeds better beginnings

Our Own Ignorance Prejudices

in the humbling
realization of our own
ignorance prejudices

begins our long walk
to tolerance for all
and an awful pity

for those still
fevered with anger
hate bitterness

Inspired by the comment ‘sadly, the ignorance we battle' Eric Cockrell. Copyright © Terence George Craddock
