The Thinking Man

We are the thinking man
We have learned our right shoe
from that of our left; the jacket
buttons in front with the label in back.
We are the thinking man
born of erudite parents,
descendents of tribes;
who once gathered and hunted
across property lines.
Civilized, we now terrorize
our children’s children
with a fear of ours not their unknowns.
We are the thinking man
We are the thinking man.
We are the thinking man.
We repeat ourselves to no end….
We are not thinking men alas;
forsooth we are but pitiful reactionist
to the catalyst of mortal trepidation.
Not thinking men.
Rather men content with ignorance.

Wild Twang You Make My Heart Sing...You Make Everything....Harder

A friend just said to me that I needed to write Country Western songs
Since I was so good at coming up with titles the way I do
A little Wherethefuckarewe.....bird can be heard singing in the background
As I try to throw a few lyrics down.....he doesn't seem to like the licks I pick
Because he keeps interrupting my concentration with his own cover of
The great George Jones's 'He Stopped Loving Her Today'
I must be just too much rock and roll to write a song about my dog getting drunk
Or my wife leaving me for some fellow who owns a local Wash & Suds....
'Bout all I can think of to write that might become a hit
Would be a song about how damn bad most Country Music really is....

*Knock, knock

We die from within and just like our statues
We dedicate to our eternal memory,
So many trinkets sculpted
From concrete, brass, plaster and wood.

We rot; inside, outwards
And so when Death
Is finally displayed on our faces,
Our friends
Are suddenly free to express with sheer amazement

That they never really knew us
All that well…

Peacemaker's Epigram

They all walk like ducks
and they definetly all look like cool cats...
but they bark like dogs.
And yet what comes out of their mouths
is still a lot of quacking.....
