Blinding Light
My life so harsh and hopeless,
And lived in deep despair,
So lost, alone and beaten,
For no one knew me there,
The end so close, foreboding,
Though welcomed by my soul,
I closed my eyes and entered,
The deepest, darkest hole,
I tumbled ever faster,
And moved so swiftly on,
My heart light as a feather,
Now knowing, I was gone,
Despair, I left so far behind,
And happy to be free,
I made my final journey,
To discover who was me,
I left no one to mourn me,
Or stand beside my grave,
No knight in shining armour,
Rode a stallion, strong and brave.
My journey now was at an end,
Id given up the fight,
I opened up my tear filled eyes,
And saw a blinding light.
I raised my arm to shield them,
And saw a man; stand there,
He seemed a stranger to me,
But one who seemed to care.
He told me I must leave here,
Go back from whence I came,
He said that he would guide me,
But here he must remain.
I woke to songbirds singing,
Sunshine and skies of blue,
My guide he stood beside me,
Child, we have much work to do.

Bright Eyes
There was a little rabbit,
Just doing what rabbits do,
Hes going about his business,
As little rabbits do.
And as I watched the rabbit,
A crack rang in my head,
The rabbit flew up in the air,
And then he fell down dead.
Just one man and a rifle,
Did what he aimed to do,
The rabbits life had ended,
Now simply rabbit stew.
I felt my senses reeling,
How could he be so mean,
That rabbit had the brightest eyes,
That I had ever seen.
The man picked up the rabbit,
He dropped it in a sack,
And I cried, for that poor rabbit,
Who wont be coming back.
I know Im in the country,
And this is what they do,
But I couldnt eat my bright eyes,
Even camouflaged as stew.

How Could I Leave You?
How could I leave you?
Lost and bereft,
Lets not talk about dying,
Just say that I left,
We met on a journey,
Such fine company,
Lets not talk about dying,
You just set me free.
Each life has a meaning,
With purpose each day,
Im glad it was you,
That I met on the way,
The time spent together,
No second was lost,
My love, I gave freely,
No counting the cost.
My journey is ending,
But in you I live on,
And Ill be by your side,
As you greet each new dawn,
My mission accomplished,
My journey complete,
Lets not talk about death,
When the living is sweet.
Dont dwell on your anger,
Your fear and your pain,
The night may be dark,
But the light comes again,
In love and in laughter,
This chapter should end,
What more could I ask?
Of you, my dear friend.

A Fall Of Rain
Autumnal colours,
Gold and russet brown,
The once green leaves,
Are falling,
Falling down,
The sky still blue,
The clouds a wispy white,
The sun is yielding,
To an early,
Night,
The mist rolls in,
From vacant distant hill,
And dampens,
To an early,
Autumn chill,
The golden sunlight,
Dapples tree lined lane,
And a rainbow,
Compensates,
A fall of rain.
