Lay Me Down
Lay me down,
On eider and on lace,
That I may see the love,
Upon your face,
Lay me in the shadow,
Of your smile,
That I may share my life,
With you a while,
Lay me down,
On silken summer sand,
That I may come to know,
And understand,
Lay me at the place,
Where rainbows end,
That I may be with you,
My love, my friend.

Let Me Be
I close the curtain; shut the light,
For day is day, and night is night,
Sometimes, I turn the table round,
In hope, by daylight, peace is found.
No telephone, disturbing, ring,
At times, I curse the blessed thing,
A two edged sword, I do admit,
I would be lost and isolate.
My door is locked; no callers please,
For you may find me on my knees,
In silent prayer, in distant thought,
My peace, my friend, just cant be bought.
But you can give so, generously,
By simply letting me, be me,
Let me find just what is mine,
I need the space; I need this time.
I fear the calm before the storm,
I brace myself; the clouds take form,
I wait for rain, wash down on me,
And fill me now with energy.
Now open curtains, let light in,
Watch a sunbeam come within,
Re-ignites the flame of love,
Im now below, and youre above.
Im ready now, what is your bidding?
Can you be so unforgiving?
Im so much better than before,
Why then, do you, still ask for more?

Nature's Lullaby
Its raining now,
I hear it softly fall,
The gentle pitter-patter,
On the wall,
The silent teardrops,
Shed by unseen eyes,
Its raining now,
In darkened midnight skies,
No moon, no stars,
To brighten up my sky,
I hear the sound,
Of natures lullaby.

Now All That It Took
Now all that it took,
Was one longing look,
And a kiss,
So gentle and tender,
There was you,
There was me,
And a sycamore tree,
And a night,
I would always remember.
The new moon was high,
In a velvet blue sky,
The stars,
Seemed to twinkle at will,
I was cold,
You were warm,
And had weathered the storm,
We were old,
But not over the hill.
