I Am Woman

I am woman,
Proud and free,
More to me,
Than what you see,
I stand alone,
A world apart,
Just holding fast,
To wayward heart.

I am healer,
Poet too,
I see colour,
Rainbow hue,
All at one,
With God above,
Forever bright,
Eternal love.

I am fire,
Burning gold,
Cold as ice,
If truth be told,
Just a spark,
Light a flame,
Glowing embers,
Die again.

From the ashes,
Rise once more,
Just passing through,
An open door,
Looking back,
From up ahead,
Now hear the fools,
They call me dead.

I am spirit,
Pure and bright,
Rising up,
To meet the light,
I enter there,
The realms of love,
It’s all around,
Below, above.

My kindred souls,
Enfold me there,
And full of joy,
I ask them,
Where?
Should I now be,
So bright and free,
For I am woman,
I am me.

I've Been Away

I’ve been away,
But now I’m home,
Took to the hills,
No cars, no phone,
I climbed a mountain,
Reached the sea,
Quiet contentment,
Followed me,
Sole companion,
My best friend,
She must have known,
I’d reached the end,
She called me up,
To rescue me,
She let me sleep,
She let me be.

Kaleidoscope

In dreams, I see your shining light,
Your coloured lilac hue,
A silver cord above your crown,
Connected to the blue.

The palest shade of dusky pink,
Surrounds your gentle heart,
And emanates towards me,
I gladly send it back.

A kaleidoscope of colour,
Is there for me to see,
The red, the green, the orange,
The violet; just for me.

So many different colours,
All merging into one,
I send a thought of love to you,
I see the rainbow form.

I venture from my dream state,
My eyes now open wide,
My rainbow is before me,
It comes to bid goodbye.

My Absent Friend

I bow my head and close my eyes in prayer,
And send my thoughts to you my absent friend,
Though miles apart I know that you’re still there,
You’ll be with me until the bitter end,

I pray that you’ll find happiness again,
And may you find the strength and will to win,
I may not be the one to ease your pain,
In love, my friend, there is no thought of sin,

My love has no beginning, has no end,
I’m blinded so your faults I cannot see,
I’m at a loss and try to comprehend,
Just what it was that made you come to me,

You touched me with a gentle tender touch,
My absent friend, I’m missing you, so much.
