Day Dream
Buttered toast morning
Coffee with cream
Sunlight streaming through the sash
Mozart melodies dance up and down
The tables and the floors
The cat purrs contentment at my feet
My lovers arms close round my breast
Soft lingering kiss, Good morning
Sets all the world aright.

Daybreak (haiku)
Sunlight through the window
birdsongs catch the morning mist
day dreams taking flight

Dead Starfish
washed up
on the beach
high tides brief wasting
a minute more, a minute less
the beach holds
sand secrets
to take or to give
back and forth we go
but time does not wait
as the last wave recedes
the next plunges forth
and wipes the slate
pebble and foam completely
clean.

Deadly Truths
They killed Jesus.
They killed Lincoln.
They killed JFK, RFK
Martin Luther King.
Mahatma Gandhi murdered
on his way to pray.
Even John Lennon killed
for daring to imagine?
Whenever the truth is spoken, it seems
someone has to die.
(The first public presentation of this poem was on The Jeff Farias Show, Apr.8,2010.)
