The Dawn of a New Religion
Greetings and good morning, my brothers and sisters. I am the Reverend
Mr. Jesus Mohammed Elrod Schwartz. Welcome to our Church,
The Church of the Bald Procrastinator. Because we are a tax-exempt
organization, we make lots and lots of money without giving back a penny
to the IRS. Sometimes government regulations can be a wonderful thing.
Now some of you may be asking yourselves what it is we believe. Quite
simply, we believe in loveas it has been proclaimed in our holy gospels
which were handed down to us by aliens from the planet Zorkon while they
were being transported to a level just above human. Yea verily,
we are commanded to love one another. And we do. However,
there are some people who are not like us. These people we cant stand.
But we do love them. We just dont love them very much. It is our duty,
the good books tell us, to try to change them, and if we dont succeed, to be
rid of them in one way or another. In fact, we envision a time when all people
are the same, when, no matter where you go, you may take comfort in the same
shopping malls, parking lots, and fast food eateries, when life is so simple,
people wont even have to think. For as it is written in Deuterlobotomy Chapter 5
verse 22: Ignorance, is indeed, truly, bliss. And now, we would like to extend
the hand of friendship to you. We invite you to be among the chosen people,
to be saved from eternal damnation, and to praise God with your generous
offering. And please remember, all contributions are tax-deductible.

The Dawning of a New Millennium
Another thousand years has come and gone
And I am here to see the new phase of the moon
And wondering where we are
And why
The nature of the world has changed a lot
But the nature of Man has not.
We are in the midst of the most spiritually desolate of times
Greed is the phallic God of choice
Demanding the inordinate sacrifice of virtue and principle
On the altar of insouciant ego
The lambs brought to the slaughter
With their tongues cut out
Spill their blood on the stones of our sleeping indifference.
The Earth cannot long endure the ingratitude of her children
The sun will not forever spin its gold across the sky
Our world is not without end
But do we have the foresight to alter our fatal intransigence
And prevent a doom too soon
Of our own petty design?

The Deb
In nymphal form
The seedtick hatch
A feather of wind to carry
And lay in soft bed of fur
Blood to quench the thirst
Of parasit insect lust.

The Editor
The Editor sat
In contemplation
With a pen stuck up his nose
Reviewing the latest work of some unfortunate writer
When suddenly
He lit up with a momentous flash of insight
And exclaimed
Heenhoo wahba downameenyheeny ho!
Of course no one could understand him
Because he had a pen stuck up his nose
(But after all
Thats what makes him such a good editor.)
