Portland streetcar
streetcar, streetcar!
how fair you are
with varied colors
and a pleasant noise
you convey us
together
to the places we goes
time to look
and make new friends
free in fareless square!
this city
and its nobodies
God mends, tends

|
practical keys
morning
keys
on both knees
talk honestly
frankly
briefly
not religiously
to 'Thee'
read jesus words
avoid go-along herds
rise
shine
feel fine
do more
bear fruit
cheerfully
give away
your loot
enjoy sex
everyone's toy!

Practical personal truth
i'm convinced
if i always try to see the truth
in personal matters
large or small
face facts by writing
or memory recall
i'll get over the molehill
or mountain I feel
grow up, mature
get on better with life
be better friends with myself
and even my wife!
truth can hurt a bit
it tends to correct
but when i accept it
peace i detect
the truth will set you free
said a wise man once
in day to day life
it's the adult way to be

|
practical prayer
prayer is practical
comfy on your knees
talk with your Pal
then act - ual!
religion is for the birds
they poop it out
believe in their bird brains
no doubt
