The God I Know Of
I am arrogant and conceited but my flaws are my own
And why try converting me to your God since the only God I have known
Is not truly perfect or not free of sin
And does go by the name of the God Within.
In trying to convert me why do you waste your time
Though I was slightly religious in my life's prime
But that is going back to near four decades ago
A phase in my life I did quickly outgrow.
The sinner I know I am in me you see
But in trying to convert me you pass judgement on me
Judge not and thou shalt not be judged did your God not say
Respect to my feelings do you not wish to pay?
In a World where crime is rampant everywhere
The God I know of is not living out there
Yet my sort of God can be compassionate and kind
One who does dwell in peace within the human mind.

The Goddess Of Land And Of Sea
The Goddess of land and of sea
The one who feeds humanity
And all of life forms big and small
The one who takes care of us all,
The Goddess of thunder and fire
Great fear and great awe she inspire
She knocks trees and houses with the power of her breath
The Goddess of life and of death
With anger she does shake the ground
Wreaking havoc and death for many miles around,
The rain from her clouds bucket down
Flooding the countryside and the town
And at times she does seem rather tame
The Goddess of Nature by name.

The Goddess Of Nature
The Goddess of Nature she lives eternally
Her rivers forever they flow to the sea
Her Seasons they come and her Seasons they go
And the food of the World from Mother Earth grow.
Long before the dinosaurs Nature's Goddess did live
And us humans who live off of her nothing back to her give
We were less harmful to her when we crawled on our knees
Before the dawn of history when we lived on the trees.
Her presence surrounds us by night and by day
But to the Goddess of Nature few bother to pray
The Gods that we worship and the Gods that we fear
Are the Gods we don't see or the Gods we don't hear.
Her warm and her cold breath is blowing in the breeze
And her wild birds are singing on her bushes and trees
And she is our Earth Mother and to her we belong
And she has inspired me to pen for her this song.

The Goddess Of Nature Is Everywhere Near
The Goddess of Nature is everywhere near
In the gray of the dawn her music I do hear
In the songs of her birds on the bushes and trees
That wafts through the park in the freshening breeze
Her beauty we do not have to pay to see
It is all around you and 'tis all around me
The Nature poets to her their poems do write
For others to enjoy and read and recite
Under a sunny sky of light blue and gray
The beauty she creates looks lovely today
The Parkland is full of her beautiful flowers
That bloom in the sun after yesterday's showers
And white butterflies with spots on their wings of light brown
Dancing in the breeze in the park of the town.
