I Wish
Life seemed so good when I was in my twenties
Before time left me looking old and gray
I used to play soccer and gaelic football
And I could run and chase the ball all day.
I was never much good at soccer or gaelic football
Though like many others I too dreamt of fame
But I did not play for self esteem and honours
I only played because I loved the game.
I wish that I could have stayed in my twenties
Life is much better for those in their prime
But on looking back three decades passed so quickly
And one can't turn back the hands of time.
It has been said that with gray hairs there's wisdom
But as is often is the case it isn't so
Some people as they age they grow less tolerant
And they seemed to have more wisdom years ago.
The best years of my life were in my twenties
When I could run and chase the ball all day
And don't tell me that in gray hairs there is wisdom
When it is more a sign of ageing and decay.

I Do Believe In Karma
I do believe in Karma I hold it to be true
And what we do receive from life can often be our due
What goes around does come around as some are known to say
And the time does come when for our sins to Karma we must pay.
I do believe in Karma if we wrong someone in any way
To it for our wrongdoing some price we have to pay
Our sins against others left to Karma to recall
What goes around does come around and that does apply to all.
On the Universal Karma not everyone does believe
That on what we do unto others in turn we do receive
There is a price you have to pay if you do others ill
And if the law does not catch up with you then Karma surely will.
With what goes around always comes around I for one does agree
Though others many others would see it differently
Karma will return to haunt you for any wrongs you've done
It is so Universal and is for everyone.

Kind Hearted People
The toasting glass in their honour we should raise
The kind of heart they are worthy of our praise
To help those in need they go out of their way
Just for to be helpful and without asking for pay
Kind hearted people a few live on every street
Such people that one does feel happy to meet
For the welfare of others they genuinely do care
Though sad to think such people becoming rare
A few kind hearted people I feel privileged to know
And my respect for them with familiarity grow
Their rare gift of kindness is a wonderful thing
And their praises I always feel happy to sing
To their higher selves they remain ever true
And credit for their humanity in heaps they are due.

Never Give Up On Life
Never give up on life live for as long as you can
That goes for every woman as well as every man
We only live once at life no second chance
So why not be happy and laugh, sing and dance.
Never give up on life though you are aged and gray
And live for the moment and enjoy every day
Our time is too short for worry and woe
The sad sacks of the town few do wish for to know.
May your last day be your hardest as some are known to say
For the weeks hurry by and time keeps ticking away
We are only mortals like the sheep or the cow
And we only can live in the here and the now.
The great gift of life is a marvellous thing
And it's praises we ought to feel happy to sing
Your crosses may be hard to bear but why wish to die
Since none know of a hereafter and the facts never lie.
