Soliciting For Comments
The more comments online poets receive the higher the ratings they command
That the big egos need for to be fed should not be hard for to understand
With those who say good writing does stand on it's own merits I for one can only agree
Soliciting for comments for higher ratings does seem so egotistical to me
Without comments your works will not rate highly even though you do write rather well
But who is or is not a good poet only time alone it will tell
The more comments that some do receive the more they do solicit for more
Big egos are quite hard to appease I am sure you have heard that before
'Tis natural to want to be loved as the wise have been known to say
But some do carry self love too far and the ego does get it's own way
In most literary web sites where comments do apply some want to be top of the pile
Without their admirers it would seem they would not find writing worth their while
And the more comments that they do receive the higher their ratings do soar
The big egos do need to be fed one might say we've heard that Before.

Some Ageing Men
Not all ageing men are blessed with common sense
As some with their words they like to cause offence
They've not grown wiser though they have grown gray
No fool like an old fool as some are known to say
Some ageing men they do seem good and kind
And any fault in them is hard for to find
For the suffering of others they are easily moved to tears
They have learned from the passing of the years
We ought to learn from living every day
Though some ageing men narcissistic in their way
Take love of self one might say far too far
Though suppose some people cannot help the way they are
Humanity is made up of every kind
And if you look for flaws in others flaws you will find.

Some Ask Me To Read And Rate Their Poetry
Some ask me to read and rate their poetry though their poetry seems all good to me
I am not a literary critic and I do not have a literary degree
In a Literary World of millions of wordsmiths not everybody can be great
Though some the critics do rate highly and many they do not even rate
What's good to me not to another on few things we ever agree
The poets that the critics rate highly their poetry does little for me
The rhymers nowadays out of fashion suppose that rhyme did have it's time
I too must be one quite outdated since I have a liking for rhyme
And who is or is not a good poet on such a question you won't find harmony
In literature as in life in general few ever share the same idea
Good critical reviews can make a writer I only say here what is true
Whilst some will tell you from life we receive what happens for to be our due
Some ask me to read and rate their poetry though their work to me seems quite okay
I am not a literary critic I just pen a few rhymes every day.

Some Do Worry About Dying
Some do worry about dying and where they will live their final day
Like the aged fox to die who seeks his distant den
They would like their remains buried in their Hometown far away
Though they won't have any need for to worry then.
For the dead are beyond worry and every living care
And the cares of life do die with us in death
And over too is suffering in life some suffer their own share
Yet most do cling to life until the final breath.
Yet I as a migrant understand why many wish to go home to die
Where with the bones of their ancestors their's will lay
Love of home does never leave one that's a fact and facts don't lie
Nostalgia with the migrant till the end does stay.
Some do worry about dying where their last remains will rest
Most wish for the family grave near to the graves of those they once knew
But not everyone as we know are granted their last request
For migrants a Hometown grave is only for the few.
