Haibun
A leaf falls
A cool wind blows
The leaf flies through the air.
I see the trees swaying to the beat of the wind. I hear leaves blowing past my feet, I do not know where they are going nor where they will stop. I smell autumn heading my way, summer just concluding. I feel a chill run down my spine for a reason I do not know. Maybe it is because the wind is blowing or maybe, just maybe, someone is thinking of me.

I Hate That I Love YOU
Your bobbily nature gets me so riled up,
H
G
I
I go from H
To L
O
W
in a matter of minutes maybe even seconds, but whos counting
the amount of times Ive smiled because of you...the tears
that have dampened my endlessly-wrung pillow that sits on my bed,
my haven when the lights in life seem to dim...
The power just turned itself back on...I
laugh. You made a joke in my favor...
Thanks for the face lift, Bobblehead.
Now you seem to ignore me and your
face resembles a punching bag...
Ive got my boxing gloves on...yeah, I didnt think so.
Glad you realized your mistake because I didnt
really want to hurt you in the first place.
Being that I love you so much...
Yeah, Im gonna say it...
I Hate that I Love YOU...
I fall into your arms. This time, they open to clasp my heart
inside them.
Ill forgive you...for now.

True Friends Are Few- a work of prose
True Friends Are Few
It is amazing that in a world so highly populated, your populace of friends is few. In this world that is continually increasing, our true friends seem to decrease with each hour that passes. You may be asking why that is. Well, it could possibly be the end of the world. But, that has to be an understatement. This has been happening from one millenium to the next, each light year entwining with the next. It could be misguided upbringing. It could be that people were raised wrong. Their parents told them its ok to kill or hate instead of love one another.
In the Bible, we are told to love each other as ourselves. When we do this, we are a step above doing the right thing or in other words, opening our souls window to include other people instead of being all wrapped around ourselves. Sorta like a python wrapped around every piece of our heart, slithering through each artery like the snake in the Garden of Eden. The Snake hisses evil temptations and desires in our ears to lead us on the overbeaten, overstormed path of pain and suffering. Leading us away from the serene, pasture-like path of the lamb of God.
True friends are easily forgotten in this world filled with plastered smiles on every corner...
Let us eat bread together, never forgetting our true friends...
Settling our differences and just plain getting along...
No matter what culture, race or gender.
Straight up loving thy neighbor as oneself.
