Living in a cell.
Sitting in his bedroom
that measures twelve by eight
he types life on a plasma screen
of how his life is great
and people read his stories
that conjure up his world
and add to the descriptions
he discloses and unfurls
they say 'He has such wisdom',
'Wish I was smart like him',
little knowing really
he too wants to be him
another lonely evening
another tale to tell
the mystery of poets
living in a cell.

Loves rapture.
Take me to ecstasys river of dreams
wish me the pleasures of thoughts symphonys
kiss me in twilights kaleidoscope skies
sprinkle the morning with soft lullabys
scent my emotions with feathers of cloud
touch my existence with flowers of sound
bring me hopes rainbow in coulourful fires
give me loves rapture in spangled desires.

Memoirs of another time
I scribbled the details
on every page
recalling the things we had done
what was said
and though we have parted
I still read the book
when we were together
way back in our youth
We met in the winter
while catching a bus
you were on your way home
and were in such a rush
your purse spilled the change
that was meant for your fare
and I helped you pick up
the coins lying there
The bus was quite crowded
I gave you my seat
you thanked me and asked me
if I'd like a sweet
an Everton mint
I just couldn't decline
as these were particular
favourites of mine
We chatted and you said
you had to get home
and get changed for a party
some colleague had thrown
a retirement dinner
you thought you'd be late
as you had to be there
around about eight
I asked could I help you
if you didn't mind
I was going to pick up
my car around five
the garage had told me
the clutch was repaired
if we met at seven
I'd soon get you there
And so we decided
and chatted some more
we'd meet later on
at the old Woolworths store
the bus had arrived
and you left in the rain
when I realised
we forgot to ask names.

Once upon a time
Once upon a time was I
sitting free though once was tied
then along came pretty you
to take away my feeling blue
you alone relit the flame
of love's eternal fire
you alone awoke in me
the feeling of desire
Float on air and drift away
record the dreams of yesterday
gossamer wings glide fancy free
when you alight remember me
The moisture on your tender lips
says love will never die
the beauty of your sleep at night
the teardropp in your eye,
The passion you enchain within
is bursting to be free
when it escapes I'll still be here
will you remember me
Burning embers in your heart
in your eyes I see the spark
of a love once burning bright
let me keep the flame alight
or tell me true once and for all
if you don't need my love at all
then I shall go my merry way
to seek a flame that I can save
Once upon a time was I
sitting free though once was tied
then along came pretty you
to take away my feeling blue.
