FOUR MINUTES
Tuesday morning half past eight
that's the time that I awake
see the shadows on the wall
hear the early morning call,
Draw my breath and wipe my eyes
I'll arise at 35
the time just now is 31
tuesday morning has begun,
Think of all that I must do
the time is nearly 32
I'm going to have a busy day
tuesday mornings under way,
Sitting up I greet the dawn
and wonder where my socks have gone
the time has just left 33
tuesday morning's mad at me,
I see my socks upon the floor
the time just now is 34
tuesday morning is no more.
Written after the realization that we would only get four minutes warning of nuclear holocaust.

Love
Moonbeams trickle from the sky
and shelter in my lover's eyes
that spark around like fireflies
igniting what I see
Passages of thought
that crackle in my brain electrically
are supercharged by everything
and what she does to me
She does what she does
it's what she does to me that matters
for my life before I met her
lay around in titter tatter
She says what she means
and what she means to me is everything
Love
Love
Stay a while and wander
through the dreams of mystic innocence
enrapturing and capturing
the air I try to breathe
Darkness floats away through time and space
into a neverland
beyond the realms of realism
fading without trace
Words that flutter from her lips
like hummingbirds in paradise
are laid upon my open heart
and nest eternally
Sunrays stream across the sky
and filter gently in my eyes
that spark around like fireflies
that's what she does to me.

About this site
I found this site
and thought what's this
this could be poetic bliss
clicking through the words of sages
I realised I could cross ages
one day reading Bernard Shaw
I looked with wonder then with awe
send a message to the poet
straight away I got on to it
I still wait for his reply
I guess he's still a busy guy.

In the dark alleyway
I felt her smile like the rays of the sun
approaching me I almost felt she would run
calling my name with a pleasuring glee
excitingly glorious she came to me
We talked and we laughed holding hands in the park
a crisp winters morning we felt the ice crack
old friends and old lovers like we just met
remembering times we could never forget
Back in our teens we ran wild through the streets
with friends in a gang and the world at our feet
mischief and trouble were things we knew well
trust was a byword for love that we felt
We became closer and needed more time
exploring emotions we just had to find
that first teenage kiss in the dark alleyway
still with us eternal remembered today
The broken Coke sign flickering in the cafe
we nervously laughed as it flashed Cok each day
all through the winter we huddled and talked
encouraging moments that we couldn't stop
Our friends drifted off somewhere in the unknown
as we bonded closer in love on our own
enjoying the pleasures of body and mind
as teenagers do as they grow through that time
We tried to make plans for the future I guess
but we were just amateurs out of our depth
as the spring came it melted the snow and our dreams
and we stretched our wings seeking different things
Forty years on at the roadside cafe
the Coke sign still flickers as we nervously
smile at each other and remember the day
of that first teenage kiss in the dark alleyway.
