We were in love.
When love was pure as honey
pure as silk, like morning dew
when you kissed every inch of me
and I each inch of you
we held on to each other
as if space would make us part
I laid my head upon your breast
and listened to your heart
when your fingers combed my hair
and whispers promised secret thoughts
when we looked into each others eyes
and felt that we were lost
when I tasted your saliva
and the salt inside your tears
when you cut my hair
and said you'd keep a lock for later years
when we felt the warmth and tension
of our skin when making love
when the slightest touch
would send a shiver to the core of us
when we looked at one another
and we thought each others thoughts
in that moment
in that time
when we were one
we were in love.

What a view.
I know it all started but don't know quite when
the celluloid memorys fade in the frame
when suddenly pictures return to my brain
from the blue
When I first met you my heart gave a sigh
I lost all my fear and regained desire
my body gave in with the blink of an eye
just to meet you
The waves hammered out from the edge of the shore
he's rushing to fast to pry open the door
he's broken the bars and preventional scars
only love knew
My spine straightened out like a young willow tree
the weight of the world had been lifted from me
you said that you were just waiting for me
was it true?
The years have gone fast and the sands ebbed away
like the feelings we had when we met that first day
you no longer need me and no longer say
me and you
I walk in the desert my shadow and I
with loves irritation like sand in my eye
the vultures hold council stand idily by
for some news
The road wasn't pleasant but troubled and long
my mind fell apart and my muscle had gone
the riders of death at my heels singing songs
of my youth
But I'm not bitter I made my own way
I climbed all the summits and sometimes I played
stood high on the mountain gazed out and I prayed
what a view.

What's the plan man
I've wondered who I am
and where it's at
and what it's all about
and I don't understand
I'm just a man
I'm just a man
Where does it begin
is there a start
a true beginning
is there an end
well I don't understand
I don't understand
Tell me is there anyone
who knows, who can tell me
what am I supposed to do
is it up to me or you
tell me is there anyone
who can say
help me find the way
and show me some meaning
I don't understand
I was wrong at birth
but they saved me
but what was my worth
I've tried to make beginings
what if there is no end
to all that I've become
Life is beautifull I know
but it's horrible below
you may not understand
but I am just a man
I have tried to reach the heights
and become all that is possible for me
I had heaven in my sights
and realise all that wasn't meant to be
No excuses no regrets
I've helped some people forget
all the pain they felt inside
that they tried to hide
it's a wonder it's a spell
how the time delivers well
its turned out how it's meant to be
except for me
There are times when I'm alone
and I just wish I had a home
or someone who would love me
and take me as I am
But I'm too complicted
they don't understand
how it feels to be confused
and be totally bemused
by world affairs and family doubts
what's it all about
People seem to understand
be in command
and hold themselves together
knowing or in doubt
I feel like I am outside the circle
that is planned
some alien, some species
that the world can do without
What for me
what for anything
that I don't understand
what's the point
what's the difference, the hope
the reason
what's the plan, man.

When love knocks the door.
They met in a bar
or some small town cafe
perhaps on the outskirts of downtown L.A.
they may have met walking
or sat in a park
the greeting a smile
or an informal chat
Their names aren't important
you recognise them
maybe it's you
or some friend of a friend
a story line read in a book or a rhyme
the romantics of love
since the dawning of time
He smiled as she glanced
the blood rushed to her lips
he noticed the tingle in his fingertips
and the focus around them
was lost in a haze
as everything is
in those love heady days
He wanted to touch her
she felt her heart race
the pupils dilating in loves face to face
perhaps holding hands
would help steady the rush
and divert ones attention
of wanting to blush
You may have all seen it
or even been there
the romances of youth
are the same everywhere
and even the elderly fall in a spin
when love knocks the door
and demands to come in.
