Old Jed
Old Jed lives in a backwoods farm
he does all right he ain't no harm
he buys and sells and lends and shares
everything he needs is on the farm somewhere
O'er the past few years he's heard the news
that the men from the city with the shiny shoes
want to put up masts and dig in lines
old Jed's having a mighty fine time
Down from the city some fat high flyer
thinks the locals are dim but the price gets higher
old Jed knows there's a shilling to be made
better bring your wallet before your spade
With the government grants and various schemes
old Jed doesn't have to plant no seed
gone are the days of long hours on the farm
Jed's on the net with a dish on the barn
Old Jed's building a brand new house
it ain't on the farm and it ain't in the south
Florida it seems is the place to be
old Jed's living in luxury.

Only if
Only if, I wish
Only if, I could
Only if, I wondered
Only if, I would
Only if, I puzzled
Only if, I knew
Only if, It's possible
Only if, It's true.

Save a penny for a rainy day
They keep the cold at bay
with dreams of yesterday
when they were young and in their prime
And as the north wind blows
they watch the fire glow
sheltered in a home from their own kind
If you see them out in the street
they seldom shop, they seldom eat
save a penny for a rainy day
When they were fighting during the war
they kept the score by working hard
and watching loved ones pass away
I only hope and pray
that if we reach their age
there'll be some comfort in our time
We shouldn't have to fight
for what should be a right
of every woman every man
In winter they don't have enough heat
we've got cold hearts, they've got cold feet
save another penny for a rainy day
I wouldn't like to think when I'm old
out in the cold that I'll be told
you've got no future anyway.

Tender
Tender is the heart that keeps you warm all through the night
tender is the love that cares for you and treats you right
tender is the hope that eases pain and sets you free
tender is the tenderness that love's you tenderly
Tender is emotion, tender is so true
Tender is a feeling, tenders feeling too
Tender is a moment, tender is a prayer
Tender are the people, tender everywhere
Tender is the hand that touches you and wipes a tear
tender is the moment, tender is the fear
tender are the eyes that look at you and whisper love
tenderness beneath you, tenderness above,
tender is the mother who is cradling her child
tender are the parents who stop you running wild
tender is the sunshine, tender is the rain
tender is the freedom from the things that cause you pain.
