  49.

I have to have a holiday

I have to have a holiday
I need to have a break
the housework and the gardening
are making my neck ache
and as for painting ceilings
and working on the cars
a holiday seems just the thing
to stop me going mad

So tell my friends I'll miss them
when you go down the pub
and say hello to those I know
up at the bingo club
it won't be long till I return
so don't you fret or fear
I've got to get away from it
at least once in the year.

  50.

I'm gonna get you

This one-sided love affair's
been going on to long
the time has come to let you know
I'm gonna come on strong
I'll go through all the motions
but make it understood
I'm gonna try and get you
I think we'd make it good

You know I'm gonna get you
you know I'm gonna try
you know I'm gonna get you
watch me see me for a while
you know I'm gonna get you
you know I'm gonna pull
every string and dirty trick
to try to get you hooked

I can't wait forever
it's far too long a time
the moment's here
for you I fear
I've got to make you mine
if you don't want my loving
if you feel that it's no good
you better tell me now
because I'm coming after you.

  51.

Like her

I felt her presence
like blood in my veins
her image coursed through me
resisting restraint
she didn't speak
but her voice held the air
will there ever be anyone else
like her

I looked in her eyes
she scratched at my soul
she didn't touch
but I felt her evolve
she floats through my mind
pearls dropping like prayers
will there ever be anyone else
like her.

  52.

Love on the dew.

The mirrors would melt with the fire in his eyes
his strong arms enfolded the love that he prized
she took her last breath as her heart flew away
with a kiss that embodied the break of the day

The strength of his passion broke chains in her breast
she clasped to his body her head on his chest
enthralled in the rhythm of life that they knew
the break of the day making love on the dew.
