Today I Wrote This Poem
Today I wrote this poem
but, I’m not sure if its good
because it doesn’t have the things
those poems have
It doesn’t show emotions
or the feelings deep inside me
it has no metaphor
and not even one simile
No alliteration
or narrative
it isn’t an acrostic,
diamante or haiku
There’s nothing that’s personified
it doesn’t contain a plot
I’m pretty sure rhyme
is the only thing it got…or not
It sure was fun to write it
and I think its long enough
too bad,
its missing all the great poetic stuff

I Am Me, Myself, and I
I can be superior, and I can be blunt
I can be horrible, and I can be corrupt
I can be anything I am and everything your not
Sometimes I’m miserable, sometimes I’m pitiful
Sometimes I’m naughty, sometimes I’m dreadful
Sometimes I’m just good-for-nothing, sometimes I’m bashful
I know I’m wonderful, influential, and unstoppable
I know I’m special, attractive, and manageable
But I’m also smart, exceptional, and capable
And, most importantly
I am me and I will always be
