Precious Night
Precious calm lovely night fall
bringing hope for tomorrow
eradicating todays sorrow
shipping them away with its barrow
Precious calm lovely night fall
the cotton on todays failure
opening ventures of bright futures
that will witness no fractures
Precious calm lovely night fall
shoving away the trice of worries
terminating the moment of feeling sorry
so much in a hurry
to welcome the bright morning
Precious calm lovely night fall
springing forth to bring comfort
to the wounded wiping the days
tears showing them near view of greater years
Precious calm lovely night fall
closing the door on todays losses
letting go of the gross experiences
giving you the chance to be the boss

In the long night
In the long night
The long, long night
How bright
The light of passion shines!
The summer heat
How obstinate
It is:
Yet in the night
The long, long night
How bright
The light of passion shines!
And winter frost
And neighing wind
Behind the window panes
And doors:
And the shrill call
Of nightingales
In Spring:
No difference will make:
For
In the long, long night
How bright
The light of passion shines!

Jewels of the night
jewels of the night
you have to shine bright
to cut across the razor the dark
this night.
The pendent earrings you have
Shine in the growing dark:
The flames are leaping
And shadows flickering
This night.
And you
And you
Sweet jewel of the night
Sweet dark jewel
Whenever you smile
Your teeth shine in the night
So bright
So bright.

Alla Dogana
Night, and the silence of the night,
In Venice; far away, a song;
As if the lyric water made
Itself a serenade;
As if the water's silence were a song
Sent up into the night.
Night, a more perfect day,
A day of shadows luminous,
Water and sky at one, at one with us;
As if the very peace of night,
The older peace than heaven or light,
Came down into the day.
