I'm In Love With a Poet
Youre my soul mate
I know it, I feel it, its fate
You were born June 8,1977
I was born June 1,1977
Youre a poet by heart, its your destiny
You caress each word with your creativity
Spilling your soul like no other brother
Chilling the heart of this sister
You broke up with her again
Maybe you werent meant to be friends
Because youre my soul mate
Although youre a college dropout
I am here to catch you
To take you to your graduation
So dont worry about the late registration
And all the heartbreaks
Cause I have what it takes
Cause youre my soul mate
Lets date
Maybe consummate
All those other girls
Girly girls
Or guys looking like girls
Dont player-hate
Cause hes my soul mate
No more bitter sweet loving
For my American boy
Cause he has found his soul mate

Solved Mystery
Years we have known,
moments we've taken for granted
hours spent torturing ourselves and denying
the FACT that we
wanted to be more than friends
Imaginations soaring,
crossing into each other's
sky of thoughts
Tension causing unexpected
heat
that almost boiled over on
graduation
Exchanging continuous hugs and gazes,
both yearning to unite our lips..
What punks we are,
too scared to tell each other
how we felt
face to face,
but can send our feelings through the air,
for millions to see,
to make our phones shed light
through the darkness of our
insecurities
Keri was right,
love can knock you down
But like Corinne, I do get
breathless because I know
that you're a great guy
who truly cares
So I'm glad we put our fate in
God's hands and
decided to strengthen the
friendship that we
share.

Earth School in Verse
I am spending more and more time
in Thought
Thinking great thoughts about life
pondering on what I have been taught
dissecting every trouble
every Strife
Understanding comes easier
each moment
That God gave us everything
and more
He said if we believed
we would receive it
No need to keep knocking down
his door
Instead of always asking him
to help us
Accept, he HAS already
and offer thanks
Believing is the key to
our existence
The mind we have
more powerful than tanks
True faith is getting on
and living
Knowing God has paved the way
with gold
When we keep trying things
without him
We will always end up out there
in the cold
This life is just an Earth School
for our growing
In spirit we have much to do
to grow
Our teacher made a promise to
supply us
with all the skills and things we
need to know
So before we reach our time
of graduation
the biggest lesson we will have
to learn
Is how to trust in God our
Heavenly teacher
Instead of using man
who'll crash and burn

You Were There
You were there to supply me my bottle,
You were there to teach me my first steps,
You were there to see my graduation from high school,
You were there to see my children born and grow tall,
You were there to get the news with me that I have Alzheimer's,
You were there to remind me of all my family while I faded away,
You were there to help support my family at my viewing, and
You were there to see my casket lowered into the earth.
You have always been there for me when I needed you.
Was I there for you when you needed me most?
